Ste Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 FarCry continues to freeze no matter what I do. In the middle of game play, sometimes its fine and sometimes it freezes right away when level starts. I downloaded the 1.3 patch hoping it would fix this, it seemed to but didn't I disabled AGP fast write in bios, cleared CMOS, to erase overclock, I turned graphics settings all the way down in farcry, but it still happens. What I do before it happens: I will be playing any random level, ok, Game will freeze, artifacts will appear, game will resume itself after oh about a minute or nothing happening, except that there are artifacts still around, I can no longer play because VPU recovery comes up and farcry is still maximized, over it but mouse is on desktop, I can't kill the process cause farcry is still maximized to i have use the reset button to reboot. I checked VPU temp right after a freeze and it was 40C. That doesn't sound to high, heres a pic. Please help. I can't enjoy killing things and blowing crap up if it freezes all the time. Yes I know this isn't in Video Section, I hope more will see it here. I have posted 2 or 3 times about this before, sorry, its not fixed so I have to ask again. DasUberman20 Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Try running the software on someone elses computer... maybe the software is corrupted somehow...if its not the software, then youll have to do a clean format of the harddrive... if THAT doesnt work, then wrap the computer up in some toilet paper, hang it out of a 13-storey building, and at the stroke of noon give it the 21 gun salute... BabyBalrog Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 bet bet is to reinstall, becasue if it happens again after reboot theres probably somethign wrong. and dont forget, jsut dont reinstall, uninstall first and deleat anything that's not a saved game file..
