caffeinejunkie Posted May 24, 2005 Posted May 24, 2005 Just keep going. All chips are a little different so you never know you may have a dud or am awesome chip. I imagine you can go alot higher I've gotten my 2800 to 2.5ghz stable but the temps were too much for my taste.

DasUberman20 Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 ...how do I determine a stable overclock? are there tests to perform, or simply by observation?
NoNothing Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 you can run any of ther 3dmark serise, i perfer 03 and 05 for stability, and running prime 95 withouth erros for 24hrs is considered stable
Savan Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 you could use OCCT ( it)

Guest Raven65 Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 Keep going till the system becomes unstable. Then back it down little by little till it restabilizes. then your there.

Nerm Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 OC it until it becomes unstable then get back with us to help you troubleshoot how to get it stable. Just for reference my 3400+ does 2.8ghz on stock cooling, but it is a NC core and well it's me OCing it lol.
hardnrg Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 i used SuperPi (1M, 8M, 32M) then 3DMark05 (cpu test) and then Memtest86 overnight for stability... everything else was just not good enough of a test (ie. it could pass other tests while not actually being stable)
