Guest whypick1 Posted August 31, 2001 Posted August 31, 2001 1. Where do you shop for all the things that make your friends jealous: neon's, babybuses and rheostats, LCD voltage meters, cases taller than a 3rd grader pre-painted, windows, appliques, etc.? 2. I've spraypainted my case (if anyone cares, Enlight 7237, face plates, side and top covers black, drives and faceplate grey, using Hammerite hammered paint), but, after one out-of-state LAN party (4 hr drive), I noticed several scrapes where I can see the underlying white. Anyone have any suggestions on to make this not happen again (BTW, sanding it down and repainting is not an acceptable answer, I'm lazy and poor)? I love my baby, and I don't want it to get abused. Guest whypick1 Posted August 31, 2001 Posted August 31, 2001 No, I didn't apply a top coat. Unfortunately, I didn't have a lot of time to do this, so some things were kinda forgotten. Any recommendations?
Guest Meth Posted September 1, 2001 Posted September 1, 2001 Putting a towel over it, when driving, is what I have always done. When at the lan you could set up a miny electric fense around the perimiter of the case... Seriously, I havent found a sure fire way to protect it. But I do try to keep it out of high traffic areas and surround it by Monitor, folders etc.

Guest Binky Posted September 4, 2001 Posted September 4, 2001 I agree - a couple of coats of clear spray will really help prevent minor chips and scratches. If the scratches are not too bad you could try one of those car touch-up pens, or spray some paint into an old cap or some foil and touch-up by hand with a small brush. Alternatively you could just mask the case up and give the scratched area a couple of quick coats to hide the scratches (light coats to hide, not thinck coats to completely cover or it'll be very noticeable!). Not ideal, but I know I probably couldn't be bothered sanding it all back either : ). As for protecting it in the long run, if you could isolate the exterior case panels from the chassis, and hook it up to the mains supply... ; )
