Braegnok Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Great review Frank!,.. I blindly pre-ordered two of the 2080 Ti FE cards from Nvidia Store awhile back, and was waiting & hoping for your review to confirm performance increase over 1080 Ti FE cards. Looking forward to see performance results at Folding, PPD,.. I should have my cards in two weeks.

road-runner Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 curious if it will even work and if so the PPD. They may have to add it to the folding client first or do some changes I havent heard anything on it..
road-runner Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 It probably wont even run til they whitelist it, no one has posted anything at the folding forum
Braegnok Posted September 20, 2018 Posted September 20, 2018 (edited) If Frank put's them in and fires up a folding client, he can send in his Log to folding forum,.. and they will take it from there to write the code. To post a log file, should be same for W10,.. https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?p=261081&f=24#p261081 Edited September 20, 2018 by Braegnok
road-runner Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 (edited) Looks like for folding there is not much difference in PPD not for the money any way https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30982&start=15 scroll down Edited September 21, 2018 by road-runner
AkakmanH Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 Great review Frank. Appreciate your efforts. I will be interested to see Frank's performance test of the folding. Looking forward to it. I do not think you will see much defference. If you believe JayZTwoCents and Gamers Nexis test results then you are not going to get much improvement considering the cost of the 2080. They were, of course, testing gaming and not other platforms like folding or everyday business use. Their conclusion is that there is not enough bang for the buck so users should wait for the prices to come down.
Braegnok Posted September 21, 2018 Posted September 21, 2018 (edited) Based on current gaming performance today RTX 2080 Ti vs GTX 1080 TI it's an expensive upgrade sure,.. but looking forward the DLSS performance vs standard TAA it's money well spent, optimizations with driver updates will be rolling in, as will new games supporting DLSS.
