In less than a month, Assassin's Creed Odyssey will release, and now we are getting information on the post-launch plans for this title. It will follow a new episodic format, with Season Pass and free narrative content coming on a regular basis, so players will have a constant flow of stories to experience. There will also be free in-game events to challenge players with tougher enemies and daily quests.

The free story missions all players will receive will be called The Lost Tales of Greece, which players can experience as they come out or wait until all of the episodes are available. In between the release of the episodes though will be episodic questlines that will have players meeting familiar and new characters. The recurring in-game events will pit players against a new epic ship or mercenary as part of daily and weekly contracts. Like with Assassin's Creed Origins, there will be a Discovery Tour mode for players to explore the environment, learning about Ancient Greece without needing to worry about the normal conflict present in the game world. There will also be new monsters and mythical creatures coming with updates and a New Game Plus mode.

For those who are getting the Season Pass separately or as part of the Gold, Ultimate, Spartan, and Pantheon editions of the game, you will also get the two story arcs Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis as well as Assassin's Creed III Remastered and Assassin's Creed III Liberation Remastered. With the new version of Assassin's Creed III players will be getting all of its DLC and both remasters will feature improved graphics with support for 4K and HDR on capable platforms, higher-resolution textures, improved lighting, and more.

Circling back a bit, Legacy of the First Blade will allow the players to follow the adventure of the first hero to wield the hidden blade, the Assassin's iconic weapon. It will also explore why the Assassin's choose to keep to the shadows. Its episodes will start releasing in December and will be released about six weeks apart. With Fate of Atlantis players will face godly creatures and uncover the secrets of the legendary city in an adventure that will bring them closer to Greek mythology and the First Civilization. It will start releasing in Spring 2019, with episodes coming out about six weeks agpart.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is set to release on October 5, but those who get the Gold, Collector's, or Ultimate Edition will have access starting October 2. The Season Pass, if purchased separately, will cost $39.99.
