Guest_Jim_* Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 After being announced back in January at CES, we finally have pricing for the Vive Wireless Adapter and know when pre-orders will start. If you have a Vive or Vive Pro headset and want to finally cut the cables when using it, this adapter will cost you $299.99, or $359.99 as a compatibility pack is required to work with the Vive Pro. Pre-orders for the device start September 5. On top of the requirements of the Vive headsets, the adapter adds one of its own, and that is a PCIe 1x slot. The adapter uses Intel WiGig technology to transmit all of the data necessary, so your computer needs a PCIe WiGig card. The adapter weighs 4.55 ounces (129 grams) and has a battery life of 2.5 hours. For those 2.5 hours though, you will be able to move about a 6 m by 6 m space without cables dragging behind you, and you can even occupy with this space with others. Up to three Vive Wireless Adapters can be used in a single room-scale environment. Source: HTC Back to original news post
