Recently, I noticed that my MacBook Pro gets warm much more quickly than it once did. I checked my system monitors, and apparently my CPU is consistently running at about 50% or above. Checked Activity Monitor, didn't see anything unusual. Any idea what could be causing this?

Have you checked to see if the cooling fan vent is dirty ? Use a old toothbrush and give it a good cleaning .Not sure why it would be using so mush of the cpu though .
