The first Torchlight game was released in 2009 with its sequel coming in 2012. Even though the original developer, Runic Games, has closed the series is going to continue with the newly announced Torchlight Frontiers. This new game is coming from Echtra Games, which was founded by one of the Runic Games founders, Max Schaefer, and is own by Perfect World. (Perfect World also owned Runic Games at the time it closed.) Unfortunately we do not have much in the way of details for the game, but we do have an announcement trailer and the statement that it will combine the 'heart' of the Torchlight series with a "shared, persistent, and dynamically generated world." There will also be multiplayer, as there has been in the earlier two titles. We also know it is coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
