After a teaser website was discovered, EA has announced Battlefield V and its release date is October 19. This next entry in the series will take players to World War II and will allow them to tow stationary weapons, build fortifications, and even repair structures. Those interested in the multiplayer will see 65-player Conquest return and will get to try the new Grand Operations, event-based experiences that are multimap and multi-mode to take players through historical battles. The War Stories approach for the single-player campaign in Battlefield 1 returns for this game's campaign as well.

A change many may consider especially significant is Battlefield V will not have a premium pass. Instead the developers, DICE, are trying a new approach called Tides of War for live services. All players will have access to the maps and modes of the game as Tides of War takes players through WWII with themed experiences, unlocking themed rewards.

Battlefield V is scheduled to launch on October 19 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Those who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will get access three days early (October 16) and those with EA/Origin Access can start playing even earlier, on October 11. Pre-ordering an edition with the Enlister Offer will get you early access to the Open Beta, access to Special Assignments in the launch week, and five weapons to use in Battlefield 1. To celebrate the announcement, In the Name of the Tsar for Battlefield 1 and Final Stand for Battlefield 4 can be downloaded for free.
