Surveillance Systems - Need Some Pointers

We use these at work https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M1EMS52/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1with a PoE switch that runs back to a local computer running Blue Iris.   Right now i have 9 cameras running with another 4 to add.  

 

I have it set so each camera dumps a photo to its own folder whenever there is motion on the screen.  Then i use a program called Remove old files that is set up to delete the pictures once they hit 2 weeks old.

I forgot to add that I live in Minnesota, and a lot of times during the winter with wind chill, it gets down to 20 and 30 below zero outside. So I need a camera that can withstand those temperatures

We're on the Indiana/Michigan border so we get some pretty cold temps... probably not as bad or as long as Minnesota,  but he have two of the dome hikvision cams outside covering the parking lot.   Been out there for almost 4 years now and haven't had a single issue with them.

 

One of them was in cased in ice this year by a clogged gutter and still seems to be doing fine.

I have 11 of those cams and two of the back then high dollar samsungs that zoom in like 20x on blue iris also

Some of those cameras are rated to -30 degrees.

Is there any chance of getting some of your more honest neighbours to form a neighborhood watch program and put up signs on the street, I'm sure you are not the onle one bothered by all this activity. At least that way the scum would know people are keeping an eye on things. Also for now even 2 dummy cameras might stop them from parking in front of your house and maybe a video surveillance sign.

A few months after I posted this thread, I talked to my old neighbor who is on the police force. He hinted that they KNEW what is going on, but there are larger entities who are working on something and the locals aren't supposed to step on toes in certain investigations.

2 weeks AFTER that conversation, the stupid neighbor decided to beat up on his wife.... guess what... that incident did NOT step on the toes of the "other" investigation, and the local police responded and arrested the guy, AND found stuff in the process of that arrest.

The wife has a restraining order on him and getting a divorce and he has since moved out. He stalked her for a while, but I called in his car several times on our street and the police were able to snag him again for violating the restraining order. He hasn't been seen around here since.

And the airport type traffic on my boring street has since been cut by appx 75%.... weird.... Coincidence?!?!?
