dling Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 How would I know which SLI bridge size to use? Would any of them meant for just two cards work or are they different depending on the motherboard?
ir_cow Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Any of them will work. Supposedly the new HB Bridges lower the latency between cards by having all the tracers equal length and being ridged instead of those flexible ones. I slapped 2 flex sli cables laying around for 5 years and they preformed just fine @ 1440P in 1080TI SLI. Didn't try 4K though which is where NVIDIA said it makes the biggest difference in micro shudders and frame-rates. Standard flex cables / old Ridged / Single cable are 400Mhz (1GB/s Bandwidth) LED Ridged are 540Mhz (1GB/s Bandwidth) HB Ridged are 650Mhz. (2GB/s Bandwidth) Because the LED ones that came around right before the news HB ones, these seems to have no performance difference compared to HB from what I've read in the past. But you need to be playing at 4K or higher and running benchmarks to really see a difference. Maybe high refresh rate on a monitor like 240Hz or above might seen improvements too.
