Braegnok Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 (edited) I haven't heard anything from the swindlers at polo,.. there is only silence on my support ticket. Polo provides a unique FLDC address for each account. This address is used for making a contact from one account to another. Issue is, when one makes a deposit to the FLDC address provided by polo, it shows on the FLDC blockchain -I use EtherScan- as a positive balance. But it does not show on your Poloniex account. Meaning the FLDC address polo gives for deposits, is not linked properly to that users account. The FLDC is there, it is on the address polo provided. The Poloniex deposit system is flawed or corrupt from within, no question about it. The level of complaints this company has on reddit is mind blowing. cchalogamer Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Well I had a rather bad day in Crypto land. I was away from home all afternoon and got a call from my wife around 8PM that it was raining on the mining rig. Apparently the open window near it that had been open hundreds of times during all types of weather had blowing rain coming in that soaked a Z170 system with an i7-7700, 8GB DDR4, a GTX 1070, GTX 1080, and 750W PSU. Apparently it was still running until she unplugged it. Her PC (again been sitting in the same room same window open scenario through all kinda of weather for years turned itself off. When she checked it out apparently her PSU poured out water. SO far the confirmed dead after drying out (at least until I can tripple check) includes the Z170 board and one GTX 1070. Not sure about the i7/ram as I didn't have a chance to swap and test in another system. A bit afraid to test the PSUs until I'm sure they're dry. So yeah...that was fun. Braegnok Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 +1,.. that sucks. I have an open window in front of my folding rig also,.. but with a 1" pleated filter in the window for dust, snow,.. never thought about blowing rain. scr4wl Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Well looks like people are buying up the Titan XPs for mining now..., makes sense seeing as 1080tis are going for upwards of $1,100. (sometimes I feel like this hobby is slowly dying to the inexperienced)

I have an open window in front of my folding rig also,.. but with a 1" pleated filter in the window for dust, snow,.. never thought about blowing rain. It's honestly crazy , there's a storm windows on the outer part that's 3/4 open and the screen is relatively fine and usually stops rain no problem. I've lived in this house and had this window open often with either my desk or hers with a PC in that exact spot for over 10 years and NEVER had it come close to getting anything wet. I still haven't touched the stuff again, (sleep and other plans for today) At least the 1070 and motherboard I both HATED for various reasons so that's cool. ir_cow Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Well I had bad day also in the mining world. My computer room is right below the bathroom, and guess what the shower leaked. SUPER LUCKY I was on my computer when it happened. Didn't have time to turn things off. I just yanked the power cable from the wall. With a open air rig right next to the leak, it was pure luck that the water didn't land 2 inchs more to the right. I assuming everything is okay because it was alive when I pulled the power. Just gonna let things dry and than inspect it all.

cchalogamer Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 (edited) Final results are in after BIOS updates to the $25 Biostar board that houses my i5-6400 and hours of hardware swaps and tests: I have one dead ASUS Z710-A motherboard and one dead 80+ gold 750w PSU Crazy thing is the PSU that had water pouring out of it is perfectly fine, the one that was still running when power was pulled wont turn on now. The 1070 that was dead last night resurrected itself after I took it apart last night apparently. ir_cow Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 This is insane. every single card from 1070 to Titan V is sold out across the web! It seems like a second boom is upon us.

Possibly, or just an influx of noobies who have no idea what they are doing because people don't follow rule #1. Needless to say, prepare for difficulty spike.
