Guest_Jim_* Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Visceral Games, the studio behind the Dead Space series and several other recognizable titles, is going to be closing down, according to a recent update by EA on the studio's in-development Star Wars title. This was to be an action-adventure title that was coming to be a story-based, linear experience but after reviewing feedback and shifts in the marketplace, EA has decided to pivot on the design. Along with this pivot, the timeframe for release will be changing and the lead development studio will be EA Vancouver. With this project going to another studio, Visceral Games is going to be ramping down and closing, so EA is now working to move as many of the employees over to other EA projects and teams. Guest_Jim_* Posted October 23, 2017 Posted October 23, 2017 So, change the direction of the game and close down the studio to move the game under their own umbrella. Visceral has always been an EA studio though (it was originally named EA Redwood Shores and changed its name in 2009) so this isn't about pulling the game under the EA umbrella, as it has never been anywhere else.
