scr4wl Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Long-term Intel CPU Engineer Francois Piednoel has recently tweeted that he will be leaving the company. In the tweet, Piednoel said, "I am informed my management that I do not wish to continue my employment at Intel. New adventures coming, very exciting!" Piednoel, who has worked for Intel for the past twenty years as a senior architecture engineer, was involved in the development of some of Intel's biggest CPU architectures. The list of projects he worked on includes Katmai, Conroe, Penryn, and Nahalem. Further, he also had a hand in developing SoC's in Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell, Broadwell, Skylake, and Kaby Lake. While nothing is known what Piednoel will do now that he has resigned, there is no talk of him moving to AMD. In fact, according to this source, Piednoel has rejected that assumption.
