Mostly of the time , on load , clocks are 1550-1700mhz ,fan speed is on auto 49-50% ,temps of course are high 85C and GPUZ reporting THRM ( purple field ). But.........sometimes when i run game or benchmark fan speed is on auto too but it is raising itself to 60% and temps of course are smaller and clocks are higher like 1800mhz and gpuz not reporting thermal limit . I dont have installed any oc programs,like afterburner or precision. Only fraps,gpuz,cpuz. I will be very greatful for help here. Please help. Somebody said this to me:"Try the card in a different computer to see if the problem follows the card. If it does then it is time to start a RMA." So i am worried now. I am on 378.92 drivers. Yeah but why...One time i run UNIGINE HEAVEN and fan speed is on 60% which resulting higher clocks and smaller temps. Next day i run UNIGINE HEAVEN and fan speed is 49% which resulting on lower clocks . It is without my control. No apps installed. You're probably finding problems were none exist so forget the benchmarks unless that's your forte and you must have the highest score? Does your PC perform as you would want it to perform? ir_cow Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 NVIDIA built the FE to hover around 85c if everything is left on auto. The only thing you can do to get lower temps with that type of card is raise the fan speed limit or set it to a aggressive fan profile. Boost 3.0 will always try and get the maximum clocks out of your card so as long as the card is below the temperature limit (in this case 85c) than it will auto overclock to whatever it can (within reason). ccokeman Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 The latest architectures from both companies will start to throttle down the clock speeds and voltages as they heat up. 85C is not bad but you could run a bit cooler. Are quoting the boost or base clock speeds? There is a difference. The fan ramping up to 60% under load is perfectly normal. As you put the card under a load it will heat up. The fan speed needs to increase to compensate for that higher thermal load by pushing more airflow through the cards cooler. My suggestion would be to download MSI afterburner and detach the monitoring window. By doing so you can stretch out the time window that you can view as well as seeing the actual boost clock speeds vs the base clock speeds. From what you are saying you have no problem other than a potential high ambient temperature due to poor airflow in your chassis and or environment. What it eh ambient temperature in your space and inside the case? The temperatures in my attached screen shots are in a well ventilated case that has an AC duct within 3 feet of the chassis. Though a GPU-z screenshot of each scenario would help explain what you're trying to say easier. If at stock with no additional software adjusting the fan curve the card should be either ramping up the fan speed all the time it gets hot or not, it seems like sometimes the card's going to 60% fan well before it hits thermal limit allowing higher clocks yet usually is unwilling to ramp over 50% even when the card hits 85C and chooses to downclock vs increase fan speed. Honestly the Founders Edition cards cooling and fan curve generally suck. The issue your having is far more likely something driver related or you do have something software related installed that's trying to help with fan curve at times but maybe you don't run all the time For example some motherboard utilities can control video card fan speed and even if you don't OC programs like MSI afterburner have built in fan curves that are still "auto" that might cause the higher fan speed behavior. If it was me with a FE card I would install MSI afterburner, set power limit to max and setup a more aggressive fan curve and then even if you don't OC the card you'll get higher and more stable clocks from giving it better cooling and maybe a bit more from the extra power limit. Again I highly doubt there is anything hardware related wrong with the card and your usual case of 50ish% fan at 85C sounds more like the FE card reviews I remember seeing.
