NVIDIA officially took the wraps off its GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, and man does it sound impressive as can be. It packs 3,584 CUDA cores and 11GB of GDDR5X VRAM, offering performance that's 35% faster than the GTX 1080. Oh, and it's even faster than the Pascal-based TITAN X video card. The G5X memory runs at 11Gbps, which makes it faster than the memory on both the 1080 and TITAN X. To help keep all this performance cool, NVIDIA has equipped the 1080 Ti with a new high-airflow cooler to keep the components comfortable, while also running quieter than before. Strap in a new 7-phase power design with 14 high-efficiency dualFETs, and you have a powerful card that delivers better power efficiency while you're neck deep in the newest game. NVIDIA does plan to bring the faster G5X memory to the GTX 1080, with equipped models featuring a sticker on the box to highlight the 11Gbps speed. Oh, and the GTX 1080 is seeing its price lowered to $499 since it's no longer the king. The GTX 1060 isn't being left in the cold, either, as it will get 9Gbps GDDR5 VRAM to give it and prospective owners a nice boost to gaming potential. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti arrives worldwide on March 10 for $699. Pre-orders for the Founders Edition card goes live on March 2 at 8am PST.
