red454 Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 There are a few ways you can do it - and just thinking out loud - can you use a regular thermostat to control a relay for the heater? road-runner Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Its a 240v electric garage heater in my greenhouse 32' x 20', it has a thermostat or knob more heat less on it but no way to tell what degree its going to come on I have to keep going out there. What ever it is will have to connect in the 240v line going to it to turn the heater on and off. I can read the temps in the greenhose witjh remote but want to be able to adjust the heat turn on off etc Not sure if wifi would reach to my router either without adding some extenders but I did run a cat6 cable run out there on the network here... Ah - I see. Well, there are a lot of cool projects to control, monitor, and report things like you have with a Raspberry Pi. Might be worth looking into it. There has got to be a free one of those I can monitor here instead of going through there servers... I will have to look into that thanks.. Now I can remotely monitor/control Heat, water levels and pumps. If only I could find a robot to shovel horse manor.
