ir_cow Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Well my Polo account was "hacked" and $200 was transferred out. It say withdraw error because they never verified the withdraw but its not in my account anymore so I assume its lost.. I only realized something was happening because I got a SMS saying my coinbase password was changed. Luckily I locked that down before anything happened. Time to change my password again... Edit: Now I look closely it must have been a bot since the BHC failed and never had any but the XMR went through. Well Im screwed, you can't get it back once its transferred out. Edit: It went real deep, they got into all my accounts. The only damage was done is the XMR transferred out. I reset my emails, banks and every account I could think of. I wasn't aware of the google authenticator. Until It was too late. I had the SMS setup but whoever did this spoofed my phone number because I can clearly see the code at 5:01AM. Some fancy stuff people are doing. I only have it on Polo because It was set for auto trade at a certain value. The person canceled it and than turned it to bitcoin cash and ran with it. I spent a good hour going to into every account I could think of and changing the passwords and adding google authenicator where I could. But it looks like the wallet has none of that so if they know your password from keylogging you are SOL. That really sucks, I see you quit folding as well! Doing something else? Still folding, just moved to the Curecoin team to make an extra $100. its .21c a coin and I get about 15 a day. I didn't want to leave the team but I go where the money is. (eg coinigy) or enable any API access to your account. Be careful with your phone, competent hackers can gain access to your phones SS7 system. Read Protocol security vulnerabilities : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signalling_System_No._7 I would reset or wipe, reinstall OS on all your computers,.. and then change your passwords,.. most importantly your email accounts. A hacker who has your main email password has the keys to your kingdom. The best way for me to remember over 200 passwords without writing any of them down is using one memorable phrase. For example: "The Observer is a Sunday newspaper" becomes "TOiaSn". Add numerals or a special character thus "TOi*aSn". Now for every site you log on to, add the first and last letter of that site to the start and end of the phrase, so the password for Amazon would be "ATOi*aSnn". At first glance, unguessable. but for you, still memorable."
