Supposedly the company has received expressions of interest from others, including Google and Salesforce.com, which resulted in Twitter's shares rising on Friday. This is still just rumor though, but Twitter's board of directors is open to being purchased supposedly, so if this is true and the momentum builds, we could see a deal made by the end of the year. If such a purchase is made, the buyer would not just be receiving the social media platform, but all of the data it generates, which could prove very valuable for some businesses.
