AkakmanH Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 Back in the early 90's, a British company was working on using power lines for internet hookup. They were looking for $2 billion for funding. Nothing ever came of it that I know. If this works, imagine what the internet would look like Now, if only the U.S. could keep ICANN we would be in good shape for future internet growth. Braegnok Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 AT&T already has the system up and running at some of it's own facilities delivering data for 4K TV and 4G LTE spectrum for smart phones,.. I guess the company is waiting for "favorable regulation" and "the right global location," whether that's in the US or elsewhere before releasing deployment date.
