I am repairing an old aspire one netbook with 2GB max just for fun I want to put windows 10 on it before the end of july
Braegnok Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 (edited) 1R this is the number of chip selects each DIMM module has,.. 1R = 1 RANK, and 2R = 2 RANKS. 1Rx8 DIMM will have 8, and a 2Rx8 DIMM will have 16,.. as for compatibility generally system specifications call for one or the other specifically, you can not mix DIMMs as they are completely incompatible with each other,.. if your replacing an existing module you must either match the given designation perfectly or replace the whole bank with the new type. The module in link is non-ECC so should work fine in your netbook,.. but check compatibility with Aspire Support before buying,.. and have netbook up/running before buying so you can check to confirm "Used" modules are not DOA as soon as they arrive before leaving feed back, you can return for replacement or refund.
