Determine if GPU has "gone bad"

Recommended Posts

I have been getting a lot of failed F@H work units on both my GTX970 & GTX660. Driver & fah reinstalled do not seem to help.

The 970 seems to play just cause 3 just fine. There are some odd lighting issues in game. Hard to describe its like shadows behind buildings g\flash white rapidly. No other issues.

So I need to determine if the card is actually failing before I commit to spending money.

Nividia's latest drivers are a bit wonky lately with some cards, especially factory oc'ed ones, when I play fallout4 with my 660 which is factory oc'ed by only 13 mhz I have to downclock it to the stock nividia clock or I will get the error ypu get. You might want to try downclocking your cards to see if that helps.

The easiest fix is to drop your GPU clocks by 20-50 MHz and see how it goes.  Factory OC'd cards always seem to flake out after a few rounds of driver updates since they're being pushed harder by better drivers.
