feelit Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) Edit title - No option to overclock after updating bios** So i recently updated my bios as i'm trying to overclock my CPU (Intel pentium g3258). After the first attempt at overclocking there was no change in clock speed. I search up why this may be happening and a lot of people suggested to update the bios. I updated and now when i go into the bios there is no option to change the CPU core ratio... Is it now impossible to complete the overclock with this motherboard? I'm using the ASRock H81 Pro BTC mother board. If any more information is needed please ask. Thanks! ir_cow Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 It seems to me Asrock disabled overclocking in the bios update. Not many H81 motherboards have the features to overclock anyways since its an entry level board. This is only a guess...
MedievalNerd Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 This might be of help, but it's a bit old I think. http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=36561735&postcount=114 As hornybluecow said, I think that Intel 'forced' Motherboard manufacturers to update their bios to remove non-k overclocking.
