Ste Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 (edited) I am about to make a new beast so to speak and really have only ever trusted PC Power and Cooling Power Supplies now that they changed their name to Fire Power, has their Quality suffered? IS say this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4H81E87131&cm_re=firepower-_-17-341-018-_-Product Still the best for the price or is Seasonic Corsair or another PSU Brand better now. (been a long time since I could locate that Power supply guide lol) Edited March 2, 2016 by Ste
olokul Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I would step up to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438017evga's G2 series in my eyes is about the best you can get. It makes Tomshardware's tier 1 list and comes highly recommended by JonnyGURU Without looking up that powersupply and a company name change i would be taking a second look at the fire power brand, seems like a lot of reviews say it has short cables and causes issues when installing. uneedav8 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 It looks like the major change happened when they were bought out by OCZ. If you go to their website, they still offer their turbocool series power supplies which is a good thing. Those were the high quality ones we wanted. I agree with Olokul and would go with an EVGA PSU if not the PC Power and cooling.

Ste Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 So is this one enough, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1N83U90889&cm_re=evga_750_g2-_-17-438-017-_-Product For this card, only reason I ask is because it says minimum need for the card is a 600 watt psu and I know the EVGA psue is not 750 Continuous http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125682&cm_re=gigabyte_g1_gaming-_-14-125-682-_-Product. Waco Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 You don't need a 600 watt PSU for any video card... That said, all PSU ratings are continuous output.
ir_cow Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 EVGA G2 series, Any Seasonic or Corsair AX series are all good. Wouldn't trust much else.
Waco Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I have a PCP&C PSU post-takeover. I had it replaced after 4 years, and the new one is fine. That said, the quality is not what made them great. I wouldn't prefer them these days.
