Guest onions Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 After over a month of searching for a decent job in Paris, I finally scored something decent! As of today, I am a network and system administrator, and am in the backup team. In other words, my company whores me out to other companies that need an extra technician for a few weeks. Pays better because of the higher workload of learning all new systems all the time, I get to travel, and I'll be making a ton of contacts in the IT sector. Best of all? Certifications are all paid for by the company, with no waiting period. Going to start killing the Cisco stuff soon. Tl;dr: Got job. Won't be flipping burgers after all. Nerm Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Congrats man! I am in the IT consulting sector so I completely understand the being "whored" out feeling lol. If you get opportunities to travel with this job take them. The traveling gets harder on you as you get older and wife/kids get added, etc.

Guest onions Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) Thank you all! Sounds like a pretty cool gig good for you You mostly gonna be in Paris or will you be traveling all over? It'll mostly be in Ile-De-France (Paris and surrounding areas), but there will be opportunities to go to various cities all over France. @bp9801 I was sent to my fist "mission" today, I'll be working with a news station called France 24 for about a month.
