Fogel Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 I was told to stay away from Corsair CX series PSUs. If you can spare the budget you might want to spend a bit more on a PSU. I had a PSU fry my entire build. Oddly enough it was a Corsair. It was a gold rated one so I think I just got super unlucky but either way I do like to play it safe with PSUs. You might also want to consider an after market cooler. Supposedly Skylake runs cool so perhaps not necessary, but the Cooler Master Hyper 212 is a good budget cooler. I'm probably not the best to offer up advice at this time since I don't know the current tech but your post looked so lonely.
feetfats Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 The cooler master 212 is solid. If budget allows a 250gb ssd is really nice to speed up boot times and leaves enough room for your favorite game to boot quickly.
RedFury77 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 It's hard to make many changes in that price range, but I would grab the faster kingston 2666mhz ram for just a few dollars more. According to this it could make a small difference: The Cooler Master B600 ver.2 looks a little better too, 600watts, 46amps/+12v, and 85% efficiency : Looks like a pretty good budget build though. ccokeman Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 He wont be overclocking with the B150M chipset so excess heat wont be an issue and base cooling should be fine.
lucio Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) waw, I didn't think somebody would respond, thanks for the advice,I changed it a little just the ram and the powersupply, don't think cooler will be necessary, but I was wondering if the GTX 960/970 would be better to pick up since that's more recommended stuff if it's better? Fogel Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Looks like a solid build for the money. If gaming is the main purpose of this PC than upgrading the graphics card is indeed the best place to go. If gaming will be infrequent you can definitely hold out till you have some spending money at a later date.
