potatochobit Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 yes, dead pixels are common to all liquid screens but after searching around on the internet, alot of people seem to have problems with dead pixels on a surface pro 3 some people even complained about dust or dirt being sealed underneath the touch screen. my dead pixel seems large and a boomerang shape, so i am guessing it may be dirt instead of a cluster of dead pixels, as well I just don't know anymore. what happened to quality control stickers where is the guy with the white gloves inspecting products even tons of video games are released digitally in broken messes lately like batman offering full refunds and samurai afro game. since I have been buying computers for a long time, I have lived through the age of first generation LCD screens since I have less than 5 dead pixels, I feel guilty returning this so I may just deal with it. Waco Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Are dead pixels/screen defects covered by the warranty? I would assume so...
potatochobit Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 from what I hear, microsoft has really good service at the microsoft store most people can walk in and they would exchange it no questions asked and there is a 1 year warranty but I dont know if I have the receipt newegg in the past would not allow monitors to be exchanged for dead pixels under certain circumstances with the advances in technology and how LCD prices have dropped significantly it is no longer an issue I do not know what the official microsoft policy is but wasting a computer due to a minute defect in aesthetics, I have to think about that I may go down to the microsoft store and see if they can fix it I dont know if the screen plate can be disassembled and blown out, I heard it is a pain to open these things these surface things have some other problems though as do most windows tablets sometimes, the tablets won't charge when they are plugged in properly via A/C the battery has many safety features preventing over charging and rapid charging I have owned an asus transformer and now this one and they both have this issue the USB cord will light up when plugged into the tablet showing it is connected but windows is not actually charging your battery or runing from A/C power I had the computer shut down at 7% battery left even though it was plugged in and connected for over an hour
