CheeseMan42 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Previous rumors surrounding the upcoming Intel Skylake-S Core i7-6700K and i5-6600K unlocked CPUs pointed to a reveal at Gamescom 2015 from August 5-9. The latest news is a roadmap obtained by Chinese website Benchlife that confirms the August 5 end of embargo date. The two "enthusiast" CPUs will launch with the latest Z170 chipset motherboards with "mainstream" and "low TDP" chips to follow later in August and early September. The enthusiast chips have four cores with eight threads with base clock speeds of 3.5GHz for the i5 and 4GHz for the i7. The mainstream CPUs remove the overclocking support found in K series models and also lowers the clock speeds while reducing the TDP from 95W to 65W. The low TDP series has four quad core models that range in speed from 2.2GHz to 2.8GHz.
