GPU Overclock issue

Recommended Posts

It's been awhile since I've messed with dual GPU AMD cards,.. they might show as one GPU in Catalyst,.. GPUZ shows your CrossFire is Enabled so your OK.

I always used MSI Afterburner back in the day to overclock my dual GPU cards.

PowerTune could be reducing GPU clock back to 950Mhz,.. if you adjust GPU Vcore in Catalyst,.. you can try moving power limit slider in CCC to it's maximum,..  the 7990 should do 1130Mhz core and 1640Mhz memory and handle 1.35V with no issues up to 95c

The HDgraphics is the i7-4770 CPU chips intragtated,..  it is auto disabled when a discrete card is installed/running,.. but could be option in BIOS to manually disable it.

Earlier when you mention the dual gpu , i notice something in the gpu -z not sure if its how it suppose to be , on the bottom of gpu-z theres a tab which i can switch to , theres 2 amd radeon hd 7900 and 1 hd graphics 4600 , i'll show you how it looks like for each one ,

I took a screenshot for each one and its sensors and put them next to each other so you can see which is which,Heres : http://i.imgur.com/40VRC6M.jpg

Also the power in the CCC theres no manual input for numbers , its like + how much %  ,up to a maximum of +20% and even then doesnt change anything.

As for the gpu temps they dont really change that much , even under furmark gpu stress they go up to a maximum of 55c

In CCC click on the Information tab,.. then Hardware,.. do you see Primary Adapter listed as AMD 7900, click that drop down tab,.. is your Linked Adapter also listed as AMD 7900.

Interesting thing about overclocking dual GPU cards,.. some times PowerTune messes with core clock or does not apply to second GPU,.. seems with your 7990 running 925Mhz normal BIOS the second GPU stays at 925Mhz,.. so overclocking is a no go.

Guess you can leave card at default settings or flash BIOS to 1000Mhz Turbo BIOS.

When you ran the Benchmarks only one GPU was at overclocked settings,.. and in default settings your card was running both GPU's in turbo mode with the higher score.

Personally I would run card in default and let the crossover chip control the turbo and clock Mhz too both GPU's evenly,.. that's a great card,..
