mcsquared Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 About the last two weeks my keyboard has developed the habit of shifting the @ key to the " key and vice versa. I have tried this several different keyboards and not had any change. What could cause this to happen?
bp9801 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 What keyboard are you using?
DanTheGamer11 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Seems to be switching layouts? I know the UK layout has " as shift + 2 and that US has @ for shift+2, or some other layouts, those are the most familiar to me
mcsquared Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I've tried over 3 different keyboards, a G15 Logictech, a generic keyboard my wife got as part of a package deal and a Corsair KGB mechanical keyboard.
bp9801 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 If it's happened to multiple keyboards, I'd look at it being an USB issue. Something in the wiring or pin layout that is shorting and causing the switched buttons to appear. May also be the reason for the other issue you posted about, too. mcsquared Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 My son checked my computer and it seemed that I was playing with an English, as in UK, and not English USA! Everything is OK now.
