car audio system running off computer PSU

Ok guy need a little help, here is my old system

Its a very old picture but gives you the platform im working with.  So this is my work toolbox, i do maintenance on large CNC machines and the guys and i like to listen to music while we work so i threw this together a few years back.

RF punch 200.4 running fronts for tweeters and rears for mids on a set of polk audio m30 bookshelf speakers

RF punch 500.2 running at 250 watts @ 2 ohms on 1 channel for a alpine type r 8" sub

O2 headphone amp plugged into my iphone all running off a silver stone 850watt PSU

While this setup does ok Id really like to improve on it.   Since i had a wisdom tooth pulled out last tuesday it gave me a week off work and a lot of laying around to decide to upgrade my setup.

so with that being said here is what i have come up with with spare parts from friends

Alpine 9887 headunit + bluetooth attachment

Focal solid1 amp powering 4 Alpine SWR-8D2 8" subs @ 4 ohms

Focal solid2 amp powering Focal 165A3 3-way component speakers

hoping to use the same 850watt Silverstone PSU from last setup, if not i have a 1200watt sitting at home.

Wheels on box will be upgraded to 6x2" wheels giving me 7.5" of clearance under the box so i can fit up to a 6x55x18.5 sealed or ported box underneath the tool box.   Components will have custom boxes made for the top of the tool box.

This is where im hoping some of you guys can jump in and help me.   I know i can run the HU off the PSU but every time i turn off the PSU or unplug the cable i loose all setting on the Headunit.   Is there a way i can run a small set of like AA's @ 12v to keep the memory on the headunit for being wiped out?

I'm not well versed in car audio so bear with me.

I take it you aren't driving any speakers directly from the 9887 and you are using external power amplifiers for all your speakers? (I'm trying to judge the power consumption of the 9887).

The only issue I can think of is getting enough wire for each connection.

You will want multiple 12V and ground wires to each of the amplifiers to keep the wires from getting too hot if you are really pushing them.

The subwoofer amp is the only one that I can see pulling enough power to worry about what gauge wires you are using. The component speakers are sensitive enough to where your ears will bleed before you have to worry about the PSU wires getting hot.

850 should be more than enough, it does have power protection built in so if it keeps stuffing down put the 1200 in. Most amplifiers are rated at 14.4v and you are only giving them 12 so they aren't going to be putting out their full power most likely.

To keep from losing the memory I would run a small 1 amp 12v battery charger for something like Vexilar to the Yellow wire on the headunit and ground to the head units ground wire. Should work fine.

I can get everything to run just fine,  I use the green and black to jump the PSU on and then use the 4 pci-e plugs for power and ground (had to extend the wires).    The only issue is when i unplug the PSU is when the headunit looses all memory.

Ill have to double check i think the yellow is power and the red wire is for battery memory, but whatever :D   i was thinking of getting a small 12v battery and then a tender to keep it charged or just use like 8 aa batteries in a pack since we have bulk of them at the shop.

here is a moble unit i made a year ago for places i cant take my toolbox :)  it to looses memory but is just a few buttons to get everything back and going.
