I'm getting my internet upgraded in a bit to 20 some mbps. At the moment I only have 3mbps with a docsis 2.0 modem but I am getting a docsis 3.0 modem today. So I was going to test to see if there was any difference in speed with the 2 different modems even at 3 mbps. I was curious and I think I remember someone else being curious. Anyways I'll post my results. Thought you guys might be interested.

I would say no difference unless your docsis 2.0 modem is very poor quality.

Man these spammers are geniuses...put (NO SPAM) in the thread title to hide the spam.  It's brilliant.  Hopefully this doesn't catch on...what if rapists wear signs that say (NOT A RAPIST)?  They will be raping everybody! D:

Well so much for that. The new internet plan got enabled when I enabled the new modem.

You may not notice a speed increase but, the connection will still be more stable. DOCSIS 3.0 connects over four frequencies for upstream and downstream, where DOCSIS 2.0 only has one frequency for each. Since ISPs are constantly upgrading speeds, it is better to upgrade for long run.
