ClayMeow Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Samsung SSDs? Newegg currently has the 128GB Samsung 840 Pro Series on sale for the next few days @ $150, and it comes with Assassin's Creed III (though I wish I knew if it was Steam or direct through Ubisoft). That's $20 more than the OCZ Vertex 4, so not sure if it's really worth it.
IVIYTH0S Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I know Samsung drives are good but that's out of line on pricing. I don't see an SSD as considerable unless it's under $1/GB

I don't see an SSD as considerable unless it's under $1/GB +1 on this, I got my vertex 3 120gb 3 months ago for $60 on sale so I think even $1 per gb is too much now that the higher capacity drives are out. d6bmg Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 A few minutes ago, I saw Vertex 4 120GB is on sell for ~$74 in newegg, in the Black Friday deal. Ok, that's the same product. You may buy vertex 4 now, which would be a very good deal.
Waco Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I'd buy an 830 over the 840 non-pro every time.
SpikeSoprano Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Where did you get this? Sorry for late reply, got it at tiger ca, one day sale, cost $79 +tax with $20 rebate from ocz. Got email saying rebate was approved so now it's just a waiting game.
Tjj226_Angel Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I'd buy an 830 over the 840 non-pro every time. It would depend on whether he likes assassins creed or not. I know he already bought the OCZ drive, but the samsung drive isn't a half bad bundle deal for future reference.
Onion Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 I'd buy an 830 over the 840 non-pro every time. Why? And what's the difference?
