How's this build?

Both your motherboard and ram are pretty much overkill.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130660 This is a great choice because of it's features, and it comes with 8GB of ram for free.

I would also get the samsung 830 http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=74132&vpn=MZ-7PC128B%2FWW&manufacture=Samsung%20Memory%20%26%20Storage&promoid=1209

I know a million people will argue with me on the fact that the sandisk is cheaper, however the samsung quality and reliability is going to be slightly higher than the sandisk. Plus you aren't using the sandforce controller which is always a plus.

I would also spend a bit more money and get the ghz edition of the 7970 from gigabyte. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125439 . The card will run cooler, quieter, and faster.

http://www.xoxide.com/nzxt-havik140-cpucooler.html this cooler is a better performer and is about 6 bucks less that the cooler you chose.

Unless there is some sort of particular reson you are getting windows 8 professional, stick to windows 7 home edition, or at least the home edition of windows 8.

If you are not completely in love with the case you chose, don't get it. Personally I think http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146093 this is one of the best cases on the market. The window is small enough to give the case some flare, the design is not too obnoxious, and you can choose from many different colors. There is no need to get a full tower case that was made by a mad man.

Lastly, I would go with the HX750 watt PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010 . It does have 100 watts less that the 850 tx, but it does have a much higher power efficiency rating AND it is semi modular. Plus you don't need more than 600watts to run your pc anyways (probably less).

So yeah.........change everything except your CPU and your dvd drive

Surprised it came out as high as 1500 especially since you got some good deals on a couple parts. It should be a great computer though!

Enjoy and welcome to OCC

Thanks everyone, really proud of this build! Anyway, out of curiosity, how much would an overclock of ~4.1ghz decrease the life of my CPU? Thanks everyone!

Don't worry about it. You won't even notice it, in the sense that, you'll very likely to have replaced it before the degradation starts to kill your CPU (provided you don't excessively over-volt your CPU)

Even without saying, pulling a Waco is an entirely different story
