Do we have any self proclaimed Tablet experts in the house?

Hey guys! I'm searching for a decent tablet and in this case, bang-for-buck is the biggest consideration, so don't be afraid to chuck the cheapest you can find at me, as long as you can justify it :)

I found this one on Amazon UK and to be fair, it seems almost too good to be true http://www.amazon.co.uk/NATPC-M009S-Capacitive-Gingerbread-Responsive/dp/B006M07X34/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8&coliid=I36J7GV29RCSAQ&colid=DD7A1P468H54. It's by far the cheapest 7 inch tablet I've found so far, and seems like a steal... Which obviously makes me wary of it. I was wondering if any tablet techies could look the product over and offer purchase advice :)

Remember I'm in the UK so please bear that in mind! Flash would be nice to have as well, but for the more well known brands, any flash incompatibility seems to be fixed with a simple app download or hack so it's no serious biggy.

It'll mostly be used for messenger, watching video and browsing the web. Maybe a little gaming every now and then. Also the Kindle App is a MUST, because the Kindle in the UK is ridiculously expensive (£89 compared to the US' $79? No thanks.)

Many thanks in advance :D

Wait a while for Trinity/Brazos 2.0 if ya want W8 on it... NVM Doesn't seem bad, has a GPU but is the CPU 1.2 or 1.6Ghz... has 4GB internal so great there, HDMI too... and look at the reviews... it has warranty right? Though if it's one of those el cheapo ones then it might not get updated to 4.0 but I'm sure there are ways around it ;)

I'm not overly bothered about Windows 8 ^^ I mostly want Android because of its customisation and its versatility, without needing to spend my life savings on an iOS device :P

And yeah I highly doubt it'd even see an update to Honeycomb anytime soon, but I'll probably get around to installing cyanogen mod at some point anyway :D (as long as I can even get it on the tablet I choose  )

The important thing is it's 2.3 at the very least so I won't be too upset by the version installed onto the one I linked earlier :)

At least you don't have to wait months and months... 2.3.4 was released last year and Vodafone still haven't released it for Xperia Plays here... Find out the CPU model since that is the most important factor regarding software on Android and see if it has bad history... it does look good though.

In the local classifieds i have found a number of obscure-named 7" tablets. Most are 2.2, some 2.3. In the $200 range I found a few that even had the tegra-2 1.2GHz. (Wife ended up getting an iPad2 anyway.) Just check the specs for the processor and resolution you want. At that price range it's hard to be disappointed.

Some person said it could play Minecraft PE... that's the only game I know of that doesn't work with certain CPUs cause of no FP or something... you can get that too :lol:http://www.amazon.co...ce_ce_ai_ps_t_2

I also think it's a dual core :) Don't forget GTA 3 is on the Market :) Though it does have a few compatibility issues :(

Also unless you have a MicroSD card buy one cause 4GB will be used up in a few days... the Lexar 32GB Class 10 is currently 26 pounds... bleedin saps lowered the price right after I received my Kingston 32GB Class 4 for 28 pounds...

The processor is listed as the "All Winner A10 - 1.2GHz" so it certainly is 1.2... Not sure why the title lists 1.6... Generally it seems like a pretty solid component from the brief Google search I've run.

A friend of mine on Facebook has rather bluntly stated that "[He's] seen and used tablets in the sub £180 bracket, and their all terrible. Every single one." which I can't help but assume is a biased opinion... But still, better to be safe I suppose. He suggested an Archos at the very least, namely the Archos 101 G9 which does look good, but it's far too expensive for me. The cheaper 8 inch model (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005DRAOG0/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&s=computers&psc=1) seems alright, still runs Honeycomb like it's big brother, etc...

Any ideas?

I think they updated their range recently... http://www.amazon.co...8732741&sr=8-11 Lol 80 pounds just for Bluetooth... Apparently that model uses Resistive Touch Screen and no Volume buttons :( But your cheaper one has Capacitive...

Yeah so far all the reviews I've seen on resistive screens have been mediocre. I'd also guess they don't have multi-touch capabilities, so pinch-to-zoom would be out of the question. In my personal opinion that'd be a large factor towards a no-sale :P

It really seems like the one I linked first is the best so far.
