Montol Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 As much as I enjoy the idea of spending $40 on tools that I'll probably never use again, I'm looking for a different solution. So, does anyone have some tips and tricks they'd like to share for getting the pesky pins out for a sleeving job? Any help is appriciated. Thanks
Dgephri Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 the best cheapO solution I've seen is to use two staples bent straight. That is tough slow and aggravating. I got a pin extractor from Allied Electronics for $22 and I'm very glad I did. Even with the tool they can be a pain. Just my 2C. kobalt Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 I find staples bend easily, and you dont have control i use seringe needles that i've filed the very pointy tip and since they're stainless surgical steel they bend but very sturdy
InvaderTrax Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Not sure about the ATX connector (I don't want to take it off my board and disable my computer for those 2 minutes), but you can remove Molex wires with a long tip pen, straight paper clip, or really small screwdriver
