The Smith Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Hey guys, Here is a quite unique worklog. I decided to post it in the worklog section even though it is not a system build. Moderators can move it if they want to. So yeah, I decided a few days ago I could start a bonzaï. I have had a few before, but they all died. These things can be especially hard to take care, depending on the species. This time, I will go with something easy: a Buxus. We had a bush of it growing wildly in the garden, but my brother decided to remove it for growing carrots, so he put the axe in it. I decided to make a few propagates out of what remained of it. This species should be quite easy to take care. So here is the first pic: Next one will go in a few weeks when they have grown some roots! Crazy_Nate Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 No, I don't think I have any pictures at the moment. One I bought from Lowes for like $7, and thoroughly thinned out. I'll let it just grow for this season and then next spring I'll repot it. It still has a ways to go before it gets into the final form that I'm hoping for. You can't do too much or the plant really won't like it. The other we bought as a prepared bonsai ($$...I think we got ripped off). It's currently the one that isn't getting enough sun, and isn't doing very well because of it. Junipers really like sun.

Crazy_Nate Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Oh, don't get me wrong...they're both outside (they'd do much worse inside). The trouble is, the one that's with me right now is on our porch, but shaded by the trees in the near vicinity (can't do anything about it). The other is at my mom's...which gets plenty of sun.
