haraakiri Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I have got two systems, one intel e5300 based and another amd 550. I overclocked amd to 3.8 and use k10stat to define p states, so that I save power when not heavily loaded. Could you suggest something similar for Intel E5300? Bob16314 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 You may have a setting in the BIOS..Enhanced Halt State (C1E)..Your CPU supports C1E..If you have it in your BIOS, enable it..That will reduce CPU power at idle.

Bob16314 Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 That's exactly what Speedstep automatically does if u read about it and enable it, u don't need to d/l anything extra, it's built in: http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/CS-028855.htm
haraakiri Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I understand that, but my mobo doesnt reduce volts in idle mode, only speed. I want volts to be low at idle, low cpu usage
