Fatal Exception Errors

Recommended Posts

I finally got power back to my USB ports. I got power back to my board and the system runs stable however my registry keep getting ruined and I have used many registry cleaners to keep it in shape. But now I get a Fatal Exception Error whenever I try to play a game for a moderate period of time (Empire at War) and I get a blue screen of a memory cache dump when I download using torrent p2p with the bitlord program. Could it be the version of windows i'm using? should I get service pack 2? No idea here.

If you're running everything (CPU, MEMORY, VIDEO CARD) at stock speeds you'll need to test each and every component first. If everything is running stable already reinstall windows if it's corrupted.

Memtest86 for your memory testing..

Prime95 for both cpu and memory testing...

OCCT for your video card testing....

Good Luck!

Fresh install of Windows with SP2 slipstreamed onto your installation disk. You can use Nlite for that task. However, first thing you need to do is re-qualify your RAM. Full and proper CMOS clear, reboot and load optimized defaults. Then run MemTest tests #5 and #8 about 50 loops. Then run MemTest, all tests #1 through #8 for a minimum of five loops or longer. If you pass MemTest proceed with the fresh windows install. If you fail any of the above mentioned loops in MemTest you need to tweak your BIOS and memory timings to get everything set and passing MemTest.

do i download occt and prime95 and run them in windows?

Yes. OCCT has a test which will take 30 min, which is a good indication of stability. Prime95 should be run in blended mode (search the forum, because here's plenty of advice about this).

BUT, don't bother about that now, first of all do as Wevsspot adviced.
