northstar Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Ok i am in two minds of which memory to buy... first up is... OCZ Premier Dual Channel Kit 2x512MB DDR400 PC3200 CL 2.5-3-3-7 (£78). Second is... Geil Ultra 1GB PC3200 Dual Chan DDR Kit (2x512MB) 400MHz Cas 2 6-3-3 with Thermometer (£88). The Geil is £10 more for the lower cas and thermometer i expect. Now i know this Motherboard dosent do dual channel but its hard to find 1gb of memory from the place im buying it from, (that i like or want). The reason behind this is because i returned 512mb (was incompatible with my other 512 so decided to buy a pair) and they credited my account. Which would overclock the best? So which would you guys go for?
CPDMF Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 If I could only choose between the two I would go for the Geil. I don't believe the premier line of OCZ is as good as the Geil Ultra line
northstar Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Thanks for the recommendation of the Geil mem, i was siding with the OCZ initially because i notice a lot of people on these forums seem to be using OCZ... then decided to do a search with google and have to agree the Geil does seem to be more stable/overclockable/attractive of the two. I'll let you know how it goes Cheers.

northstar Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Well like i said i have to buy them from where i bought the last memory and got a credit refund... which is Ebuyer UK, so i cant really shop around. I would like the best memory possible but its all about money in the end 'how much can you afford' £88 is about my limit for memory... and i think thats expensive
