Full Version: Is this honestly true?

Perhaps the "D" stands for "Double", since two x16-sized PCI-E slots are included on board, supporting two PCI-E video cards. Don't be confused though; this is NOT an SLI board. For official SLI support, you'll need to look into the Lanparty UT NF4 SLI-DR. The SLI-DR is identical in every way, except that the chipset is the "SLI" version of the NF4, and therefore you get "official" SLI support.

I got it from here.

Thanks

It is NOT intended to be SLI.

Thanks smile.gif
Another question though.
With out modding the boards. How many TURE s939 SLI boards are there?
DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 SLI-D (this isn't SLI, but has sli in the name?)
DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 SLI-DR (is this one sli?)
DFI LANPARTY NF4 SLI-DR (most expensive, must be sli)

All three of the boards are SLI hence the SLI in their name.

The Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-D has the nVidia SATA with support for SATA II with RAID-0 and 1 arrays all on the PCIe bus.

The Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR adds the SIL SATA RAID controller for four more SATA ports and supports SATA in RAID-0,1 and 5 but is on the PCI bus.

The Lanparty nF4 SLI-DR has the complete SATA and RAID support as above and a package including lots of extras like sleeving and the FrontX panel.

I think I understand now.
There are Ultra-D / DR and there are SLI-D / DR. The Ultra can be modded to SLI by completeing the trace, and the SLI is SLI stock.
Correct?

If it has sli in the name, it is sli. The ultra boards and lower are not offically sli, although EVERY DFI NF4 MOTHERBOARD MADE, BEING MADE, OR SITTING IN NEWEGG'S ETC WARHOUSE IS CAPABLE OF BEING A FULL FUNCTIONING SLI BOARD. EVERY SINGLE ONE! The more expensive boards have a second sata controller, thats it I believe!

All the boards on that page are sli! And, the prices will probably be coming down, because nvidia nedds to compete with ati's cheap crossfire solution (an $40 chipset versus $100 for the nvidia sli chipset)!

I completely understand now smile.gif
Thanks all for the help.

*how safe is it to solder the traces on the chipset? any risk of burning stuff up? i'd rather solder than pencil / copper trace. soldering just seems alot more permanent*

You really don't want to attempt to solder that bridge.

See here for details...
