Well with this plan you dont need to use soldering iron.
Performance-PC's are your friend.
They sell tools and heatshrink.
Use a tool to pop off the connector.

Cut the wires. Slide on the heatshrink.

Slide the connector back on and crimp on new ends to the wires.

Snap back the connector and heat up the heatshrink.
Marvel at your work and then offer to do other's power supplies because now you have the tools, or.. sell the tools to the next guy so he can mod his ATX connector.
