Just wondering whether after doing the SLi mod on the ultra-D.. can we use the latest drivers?

cause on anandtech it says that it will not work with new drivers..

but it doesn't really make sense because how will they know it's an ultra when it's already recognised as SLi?

I was a little confused after reading the review the 1st time as well until I went back and reread exactly what setup they were using with what drivers. The driver issue was when trying to use 2 video cards WITHOUT doing the sli-mod. DFI has a trade name for it in the manual which I don't have in front of me ATM. IOW making both cards use x16 lanes in a sort of hybrid sli. Nvidia pretty well disabled this capability with drivers. However, if the chipset you have on YOUR board is modable and the mod is performed correctly, drivers will see YOUR board as a tru sli board. Take a look at his benchmarks in the "board morphing" link and notice the the "ultra sli" vs. "nvidia sli". The ultra sli stuff is what's been disabled with drivers. Hope this didn't add to your bepuzzlement of the Ultra D and SLI:)

So far just waiting to hear that it CAN'T be done yet as I"m waiting for my ultra-D to arrive any day now. My stuff takes a week to arrive at best do to location Sure is some good support here on this forum, I can tell you that. I'll be popping the lid off the chipset and painting some contacts or whatever. Reminds me a bit of the old athlon overclocking routine a couple of years ago. Very challenging work on those puppies after 6-7 beers;)
