First I did the V dimm mod

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/attach...achmentid=19452

After removing the R385 with plyers,I found that the end of my small soldering iron was still a tight fit and it was hard to keep from soldering to the other resistors but its done.
Just as the picture shows 2.3K gives 3.6Vdimm at the red wire.I could not even post at 250fsb 1/1 and 5-2-2-2 but now am just erroring on test #5 at 250fsb with my 3200 gold. After some burn in it might get stable.

I did Woutetals droop mod with plugs so I could remove the pots if I wanted to.

This is for the 655BCB.

Since I dont have a 500K pot yet I am trying this mod like Rio,s

This is for the 6556B only.

With only the 20K trim pot conected all this does is raise the droop.
Before the mod at 1.6Vcore in the bios, at full load in windows I had Vcore going from 1.48-1.58V.
Using the droop mod all it did was raise the Vcore. With 1.6Vcore in the bios all turning the pot did was move the voltage to 1.53-1.61Vcore in windows .As I turned the pot I could move the voltage to 1.60-1.68Vcore and all that did was push the temps up.
I am happy that I did the Woutertal mod as when I get a 500K pot I just have to plug it in and should be able to bring the voltage back down so mabye the droop will go away.

I thank the people that posted these mods.

Well I tought I had a successfull droop mod, the 20 K trim pot was moving the vcore up like it was said to.
today I got a 200K trim pot. The mod says 500k but to start at 100K and go down so If I had only 0.5V at pin 9 all I needed was a 100K trim pot so I set the 200K pot at 100K.
With the Vcore in the bios at 1.6V I booted into windows and turned the 20K pot down till the vcore was 1.6-1.67v in windows. Then with a reboot into the bios I turned the 200K pot down so the Vcore was 1.6v again. Then booting ito windows the Vcore was 1.52-1.6V again so I turned the 20K pot down and the vcore went to 1.6-1.67V.Then I booted into the bios and reset the Vcore to 1.6 with the 200K pot and booted back into windows again.
the vcore was 1.52-1.6 again.I did this all the way till there was no adjustment left in the pot and still had 1.52-1.6Vcore or 0.08 droop.Without the mod my droop was only0.10.
Did I do something wrong? Has anyone else done this mod?

I sent a pm to a couple of guys that used to communicate with woutertal. Maybe they have some idea where he went. I'll keep you posted. He is not the first mod guy that I've seen come on the scene with some great ideas and then just drop out. I read thru Rio71 mod. It looks promising.

Thanks Stan.

I think Rio,s mod is the first half of woutertals mod.

Did you look at hipro5's mods for the IC7Max3. That was what wouteral was saying. The Max3 and 875P-T use the same chip.

Here is where they talk about those mods

Stan

I pmed hipro and he gave some go advice but it still didnt fix the droop, I think he would need a board to try to show the right mod.

i did the vdimm mod, but found i cannot post at 3.6v+. and i seem to experience unstability at 3.4v+(even at 200 or so)

how much volt has u tried, fordf250? and the stable volt? (i'm not interested in freq, 210 is enough)
and u used settings like bios=3.2v, vr=2.x ohm?
i don't think my old bh-5 can definitely be ok at 3.6v

or we must slowly increase voltage for winbond chips?
