I'm planning to do quite of bit of work to whatever case I get, windows, blowholes, paint the inside...the works (if anyone can recommend any other mods plz gimme ideas), but I need to know whats the most moddable case...i was thinking a cheiftec just because of the price on newegg, but if anyone can recommend a better case plz lemme know.
forgot of course the uv and blue cathode lights ( should i put both at bottom, or one up top and one on bottom, or a different configuration....?)

ya the chieftec are great to mod, they are low price if you want something that ways a like a ton of bricks cause they make a steel and an aluminium one. the aluminium are a little more expensive at around $100 but they wiegh less than 10 punds with everything in it and the steel ones are heavier by a lot when they are empty.

well if your worried about the price the chieftec cases are the most modded cases ive seen, and many companies make them in some what different variations. If money is no object the lian-li pc71 and up are some nice big cases and as far as im concerned the best looking.
The best way to arrange the cold cathodes is to place them where the light will be evenly distributed, so probably top and bottom , or front and back, back and bottom, front and bottom, anything like that will work.

yeah price is sorta an object, and im gonna go aluminium. so prolly the cheiftec, i do like the lian-lis, but they are just very expensive @ 190 + where as the cheiftecs are like 90.
i want to get a premodded psu cuz i dont feel like opening it up and messing with that stuff. i like the
Voyeur Mods one. are there any other good ones that arent to expensive and i dont want those tri colored led fans in it, just blue.

Well with a steel one you just go right ahead and paint it cause it has a somewhat rough surface. The aluminium one you have to put a couple coats of primer because it has a polished finish and the paint will not adhere as well.

i would go with aluminum, whos cares if u have to put a two or 3 coats of primer on it cause it wieghs 10 lbs less or more. When buying paint remember, u get what u pay for.

I just got a lian li pc 61, 125 usd at newegg. It is an awsome case. A little bit pricey but if you have the money its worth it.

if u get one of the big chieftecks...if u dont' get alumnim be ready to by some cut off wheels to do these mods cause the medal is relay thick, back when i had mine i used alot of cut off wheels...heres a pic of it tho..back in the day...lol...this was my first real mod project and it came out ok, i like it but now my new mods are much nicer...and i must say one u practice on a "cheaper" case then u can get a little more daring and get a li lan to chop up

My first case was the Enermax Neon/Win 350W CS318S3
