my very expensive Panasonic PV-GS150 DV cam can do still images but I never tried it yet....I've always felt that vid cams werent made for still images and digicams were not made for movies so I always have one for each purpose lol

anyway ill begin looking but i'll take more pics of my killa rig

I've grown tired of this camera a long time ago. Not because it takes shitty pics (it takes fantastic pictures if you know how to set it and I've spent a lot of time setting it to work properly!). But because 6-10 pics and the batteries are done. Need recharged. Even brand new Titanium Energizers or supa-special Duracells die within 10-20 pics. That's just how it is.

takes all kinds of pics but the batteries just don't last, and my brother's Olympus is loads better (but I can take better pics with my cam because I know how to adjust it and his I don't have a clue since I don't really mess with it)

anyway...I'll be looking for a cam that has at least 3mp but more than that, a lithium-ion battery I think like my bro's who can take a zillion pics on a charge. And it has to have excellent Macro mode since I end up taking a lot of macro pics...and it must be able to take decent pics when holding it in my hand as I have shaky hands and my current cam has zero tolerance for that (it's tripod-or-bust baby!)

well, i have a post somewhere i thought in the NF3 section but i cant find it...but I've had leaks before and they are always because of my error, not from faulty equipment.

I use non-conductive fluid...or regular distilled water and some Xerex...I just don't worry...worrying is for women and last I checked my toes have hair so that means I aint got time to worry wink.gif

once you go watercooling (and once you got CM Stacker case!) you won't ever want to go back

cute kitty tho it looks like it has your attitude wink.gif

I would agree with you there. I made a 27 minute movie from over 8 hours of video I did on a major construction project a couple of years ago, and incorporated some still shots from the video cam just cause I didn’t have any digital photos of those times. The quality is poor, but it served the purpose as out takes at the end of the video that were only on the screen for a couple of seconds.

If you decide on a dSLR, I can probably help you with some questions if you have any.

Is anyone using a Logitech acrylic case? I was wondering if anyone had problems with the power and reset buttons ( I had to switch them as my power button doesn't seem to work sometimes), you can pm me so we don't go off topic, thanks.

Rainy days are great for fooling around doing stuff one probably might not do otherwise. Since I have no cool LED lights in my build, other than the OCZ psu, I decided to see if I could get creative with lighting for some photos.

I can’t remember if I posted this photo in this thread before, but I took it just after completing the wiring on the build.

Thnx, and it's far frome done

(l3lackh0le)
enzyme just curious is there legroom on that desk? looks like it's just full of drawers. but nonetheless very nice.

function, nice lil windowm mod you might want to get a filter tho if one of those fans are intakes.
yes i have legg room just a little bit more to the left from monitor's view... i myself don't find this the best setting as it is now... but this room was my sisters first and i've moved in this room a few years ago... (now this year my room get's a makeover smile.gif (YES)... and im gone redo my whole room wooden floor and alluminium desks to make it all blend nice togheter smile.gif

settings now are good and will do for the time (new system) soon room's gone change.

as for the filter.. ( The Lian-Li i have has a build in filter @ the front) Sidefan ? nah... 2×120 mm and 1×80 + PSU 120 mm will do fine.. That's why i bought the + (Plus version) couse it has 2× 120 mm.

here you see my old Corsair XMS memory.....everything else is the same... (nice caption)

Why did i bought the DFI board ?

*Way better mainboard layout! (ram is gone be much cooler then it is now) + i'm going on the SLI tour...
Picture above is Dual channel on MSI.
*UV details ( i like UV light)
*That's it really... Yes the Overclock abillety.. but that's just yet, to be found out by me.

*And no i havn't got the board yet sad.gif I might call them tomorrow and ask them if they have to make the stuff ^^

I connect the fan to the black thing then drop it into the heatsink.

I see you turned the hard drive around backwards.

That's one of the easiest but high impact "mods" you can do with the Antec P160.

I actually turn all my drives around if the case will allow. My FlowaPowa case draws attention when people can't see the drive cables on the end of the drives.

I really should take some pics of that homely thing. Once I get this AM2 rig setup in it I think I might do just that.

Well, my turn to get show things...!

After some new hardware, some new photos and some "cable management" (the better i could in this case)

This is after I took all the wires out and rearranged/twist tied/scotch taped them to clean everything up. As you can see, cleaning up is something I am not good at. smile.gif

This is how I fixed my "quiet" Antec PSU. Those rings are to keep the fan from vibrating on the case, they came in a spindle of DVD+Rs I bought. Antec is so concerned with making a quiet PSU that even with my system at full load on a hot day, the intake fan never went noticeably faster, which worried me.
nekon
this is my latest build

it was kind of a purpose built/semi-budget build.. I like how everything turned out.. had a DOA BFG card and went the EVGA route.. luckily Newegg had a MIR on the EVGA when the BFG artifacts were identified. only other issue was some buggy OCZ RAM (at time of pictures) which was later RMA'd. all good for now.

i'm really looking forward to my next build my first attempt at WC based system featuring a V1000B smile.gif
Thasp
One thing I notice with all these cases is that the intake fans barely cool the hard drives, much less provide any actual airflow into the case.

Here we go, I have yet to find a PC with it's own laser modded to it... Does the PC really NEED a case to be in this thread??? biggrin.gif

This is my nf3 250 with a 3700 Claw, 2x512 GeiL Plat 4000s, pny GF 6600, custoemr WC (Storm WB, mcp650, polarFlo chipset/gfx blocks), ultra xconnect 500, 6.5 inch LCD from sound98, and a 1mw helium neon laser tube pointing at a disected Laser FX...

I can hear Pink floyd in my head just looking at these pics... rolleyes.gif

Well, I just gave it the old college try to clean up my wiring situation in my case. The good part is that I got a lot of the wires to run down the non-windowed side of the case, but clearly I'm not going to win any sort of neatness award. Its nothing fancy, but its my baby smile.gif Here's my rig:

Angry_Games
pssst....CPU Killer showed me these a little while ago...

they are going to start making them...

tell me what you think and if you think you'd want one...

I bet you will cream yourself over these...

little mini-LAN cases..full watercooling possible...the only thing you DON'T get is a place to put an optical drive....but if you going to LAN, you already got an external burner wink.gif

Doesn't appear to have very good airflow...

Looks well built though.

Something has always looked cheap about Acryllic cases to me. I applaud the effort, especially with the quake symbol cut in, but I like my cases big and tower-shaped biggrin.gif

well you can think these are cheap but then pay attention to the thickness of the acrylic...
UncleDavid218
Come one guys... these are made by DangerDen... top notch quality.
SanguineI
Oh they can be as thick as they want to be, I was just saying that acryllic cases always look kinda cheap to me. Kinda like when they make console game controllers that are see through or other electronic devices that are see through, just doesn't appeal to me.

I have been looking into water cooling today and spent some time on DangerDen's website. They clearly make superior products and I think the only thing preventing me from getting some water cooling stuff is lack of funds and the fact that I'm a chicken sad.gif
red930
Excellent examples of case art.

Everyone has their own definition of what's appealing to them.

Just looking at the cuts and assembly, you can see the quality that you'd never get from one of those acrylic cases that are currently available from online vendors. There's a lot to be said for the use of stainless steel hardware to hold the pieces together. Notice that the screws have actual nuts instead of simply screwing into the acrylic. This keeps the connections in compression instead of tension making for a solid structure. Look closely at pic q4_uv-4.jpg to see exactly what I'm talking about.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the neon/UV colors but you can get acrylic in just about any color of the rainbow these days including an opaque which would give you the same non-see-through aspect as a metal case.

Based solely on the quality of the build, I'm inclined to place an order for a Clear or very dark color case.

Providing options for a build without water-cooling would be another option and open the case up to even more potential buyers.

Have to agree with you on alm ost everything Ex.
To me, a nice thick slab or acryllic or plexi is gorgeous.
Every time I read a review of the latest $89.99 clear case there is always talk of slight cracks near mounting holes (and you can tell by looking at it it won't last too long).
Loved the clear one personally.
That water cooling stuff scares me though, just never been brave enough.

Use good DI water with a little bit for the algae built up and you can poor it on a running PC! smile.gif

ok got the Asus P5WD2-E Premium rig (Pentium D 930 @ 3750Mhz, 7800GTX, full DD watercooling, CM Stacker case, etc) hooked up today, and set the other 19" Widescreen LCD to it (effing ONE DEAD PIXEL GRRR hehe)

ah...mighty Soviet Computing Power Room!

ps: the wood cases from DD have been around for a long time and they are fantastic (you really have to see one in person to appreciate just how awesome they are...anyone that has been to PDXLAN and touched one with their own hands knows what I am talking about)

ps: the acrylic cases that ExRoadie was complimenting...they do work with air cooling also, and CPU Killer has a version that is purely for air cooling (cooling slots maximized for air instead of water)

Roadie is right about the quality...sure everyone has their own opinion of what is cheap looking etc, but as he has pointed out, the quality of the build is something you can see in the pics...and you really will understand the quality of them once you have one in your hands (it's like a Lian Li or CM Stacker case...you see all kinds of pics and they look great and of high quality...but it isn't until you get one in your hands the first time that you REALLY appreciate just how awesome they are!)
soundx98
CM Stackers and 19' WideScreens in SLI smile.gif - very nice
