On ivitation from Carl I post a pic of my case here.
I have done this 4 years ago and no changes since. The paint has a lot of scratches now (highlighted by the flashligt of my camera) and the bronze colour almost completely has come off the handle.
This is probably the only chocolatbrown case in the whole wide world.
Some nice cases you guys have there btw!

soundx98 suggested that I post my machine's pics here.
I don't know whether my post is on topic or not.
Because my machine has no case!
Do you want a silent PC?
This is the answer.

Yes, the CF is my main drive.
And I don't have an external drive for storage.
The CF is 1GB and 80% of it is used.
FreeBSD without X is very light!

Sorry, not a DFI. I'll post the other rigs once I've put them back together
Specs on this rig:
EPoX 8KDA3J (nF3 250Gb)
Athlon64 Newcastle 3200+ (240x10), Cooled by Thermalright (like all my rigs) SLK-948U + Antec pro 92mm casefan
2x256MB TwinMOS PC3200@Sync, cas2, 2.8v
BBA AIW Radeon 9800pro, Cooled by VGA Silencer rev.2 (Soon to be replaced with a 6800 Ultra, which is ordered, but currently out of stock. Not good for my PSU

)
WD1200JB + WD800JB
LiteON 52327S CDRW + Ancient Panasonic DVD-RAM/R w/Cooler Master alu fronts
Audigy Player
Ti Wireless-G card
KME 5260 case + 2 12" Blue CCFLs, 4 basic 80mm LED fans
[bimg]http://www.ndt-uk.net/uploads/img41a7e6d402752.jpg[/bimg]
I tried to darken this one a little so you could see the CCFLs and side decal as they really look... It didn't really work, but in reality the decal is much more visible, and the blue is much darker.

[bimg]http://www.ndt-uk.net/uploads/img41a7ec428166c.jpg[/bimg]
And the hideous moment when I take a flash pic and you see that none of the PCBs match... At least when I had the Infinity in this rig, the graphics card matched the mobo, and I didn't have the disgustigly brown Audigy in there...

It was vibrating and driving me nuts so I did a cardboard mod and wedged a piece into the plastic to stop the noise..

Nice rig man. What's that coolant hose going straight up from the T-connector for? Going to throw some water on your vid card as well? How do you like the powerstream? I've heard a lot of good things about them but somebody was telling me the shielded cables are really hard to route.

Is that the two pumps down at the bottom of the case? How do you balance the flow between them?
CPU Killer
Feb 2 2005, 07:53 AM
Yep, 2 DDC 12v DC pumps
they are in parallel so there isn't any issues with "balance" output pressures are the same, just the flow is increased.

now, don't take this the wrong way, Koolance has it's place in watercooling.
It is for the people that want the quiet option of watercooling. It isn't for the extreme overclockers that are dumping additional heat into the system. It was designed for the people that have no intrest in "modding" or limited mechanical skills. But want to watercool too.
I tell people that call DD and ask about our gear that if you want a silent cooling solution and have no plans of overclocking, then get a Zalman system or a Koolance one. DD gear can be silent as well, and will allow you to expand into the dark arts of overclocking, but if you arenot going to OC, then you could save some money by getting a Koolance or Zalman setups.

well, I would have to agree with you regarding the koolance. i've had this for maybe six months and am not satisfied w/ the temps when oc'ng.
I would not say that I am an extreme oc'er at all but like to maintain a moderate oc. And I would not say that I have NO interest in modding or that I have limited mechanical skills.
I have read good things about DD and am interested. What gear/kit would you recommend to someone that is into moderate oc'ng of an fx55?
Thanks.
CPU Killer
Feb 4 2005, 04:11 PM
This is what I would recommend.
TDX cpu (copper version)(3/8")
maze 4 gpu block (acetal top)(3/8")
BIX rad with one 120mm paspt fan (3/8")
DDC pump (if you want DC powered) hydor L35 pump (if you want AC powered)
3/8" ID tygon tubing
MCT 5 or MCT 40 coolant
bay res (for very ez filling n bleeding) or "t" fitting
misc hose clamps
artic silver 5
if ya want more info email tech support over at DD

Nothing too special, but I like it. The fan I cut into the window I'm not to happy with. It isn't quite square.
Wires are a real mess I guess.
I should really neaten up that wire on my 9800 Pro. I didn't have any heatshrink to make a nice neat job covering up the resistor for the voltmod, so I just slapped on some electrical tape. Doesn't look very neat.
