Man i love the Ultra X-Connect 500watt modular psu. The design is the best ive seen they just suck in performance, i really hope they get there shiz together and make a revision of that psu with stronger and more reliable rails....

I have the same psu and for the most part it works fine, but ive noticed when i OC my rig from 3.0ghz to 3.8ghz it drops something wicked.. Even @ 3.6ghz theres a tremendous drop in volts..
[img][/IMG]
Do you OC and if you do could you check your rails and post your results, just curios if this is typical of these psu or if its just mine. I use Stability test on OCCT.

I am not currently oc'ing any thing in my pc, but when I had my msi mobo in wich I used this psu for a few months(and was oc'ed) I did test it with a digital multimeter. wile I did not test the 3.3v rail I tested 12 and 5, and both showed the same as in windows. so I asume the 3.3v rail was the same and was 3.20+v
I get the same results with this mobo. 12v and 5v show same with multimeter as software, and my 3.3 never goes below 3.22v

Oh, the CD Player is hooked up to my main comp and it has 2 speakers along with 2 subs hooked up to it. The big black thing to the right of my second computer's monitor is my tactical vest wich I use while airsofting.

edit--
If you have a steel case like a P180 or something like it that looks like stainless steel i would recommend going to William Sonoma in the mall and getting their stainless steel cleaner my mom picked some up and uses it on all of our appliances and I used it on my case and it rocks!

I think they heard you..... on the back of the latest issue of MaximumPC magazine, there is an ad that says "Ultra X-Connect 2 The world's first modular power supply just got better! COMING SOON...". Down below it gives a URL (which doesn't work yet...)
www.ultraproducts.com/x2 ... and there is also a logo on the bottom right hand side of the page that says "Dual Rail Technology" .... so how much you wanna bet this X2 is gonna be ATX12V 2.0?

OFFTOPIC :: Hey! Another airsofter! Whats your setup? I'm using a Classic Army G36C with a Tokyo Marui MK23 SOCOM Springer with a full German Flecktarn BDU set and Flecktarn Parka (for those sniper days...) ... no vest or other basic gear yet but I do have an OD Green thigh holster for my MK23  EDIT : Oh.. and where do you play? I personaly believe that review to be botched, as its very likely they used a prototype they were sent for the review according people at Ultra.
Maybe I just got one of the good ones thoe. I figure if it was gona do any thing wierd it would have after 8mos 24-7 usage.

yea....MaximumPC does sometimes botch up reviews.... but they got good insider pull with big companys and do sometimes report on smaller things that don't hit the major tech websites.

I went to a few different auto parts stores. Those are still too big, but they're the best I could find. I've seen pill-shaped ones before... those are what I wanted, but I got sick of looking.

How did you find filters that size - take a fan with ya, or ask for a certain size ID? (Ever notice how when you ask for something a little unusual in an auto parts store, they look at ya like yer crazy?)

They most definitely did look at me funny. I asked for a filter that had a 12cm interior diameter. I took a cd in with me just so I could put it inside the filter and see how it looked. They asked me if it was for a custom application heh... it certainly is.

The head rest is great and the open mesh back is Cool literally and great for comfort
To bad the arm rest are wearing out. I'm gonna have to replace it soon.
Blooz! Yeah it was hard to find especially in clear.
I take my time keeping it spotless as you can see
I never thought of going to a Auto Parts store for my puter needs but I'll keep that in mind.
On the other hand I bought an electrostatic filter for my a/c. at Lowe's. Comes with a three layer core. A rigid screen material, mirco foam. and third layer that creates an electrosatic charge. They come one size and you custom cut to fit your return air. What's left over is a modders dream. Easy to cut cleanable and I've heard it helps protect your puter from viruses. Ha! It really does make good filter material and not a bad upgrade for the home enviorment at the same time.

You'd be surprised at what you can find to use for modding!
I've used "door edge molding" for the edges of case windows - cheap, and you can get it in chrome! (It has to be heated to really do bends, though)
Great source for high grits of sandpaper for heatsink lapping!
REAL cheap source for "splitloom" for sleeving wires if you don't have the patience for the real thing! Especially now - it comes in tons of colors, thanks to the "Fast and Furious" crowd! Also 12V lights of all kinds.....

Angel OYS - Thanks for the comments... Wine helps the concentration you know, especially when your glass holds half a bottle!!
The TT case is pretty good on the cooling front - 120mm fans front and rear and a 92mm on the side panel. I've just swapped my Asus Star Ice for a Gigabyte G-Power Pro and have an Arctic Cooler on my 6600GT. CPU temp is around 30 degs at idle, rising to 40ish under heavy load. Chipset getting to near 50 at current clock settings (Cpu only at 2.475 due to Corsair issues - will do 2.6 no probs normally). I'm quite happy with that.
Good news as well - just got in from work and have an email from OCUK. They have agreed to let me RMA my Corsair RAM. OCZ 4800 Plats here we come

Thunda,
OMG.... I've got a dilemma now! Give up my LCD or risk upsetting a moderator.... Hopefully you'll take pity on me

My desk is only this tidy 'cos I'm a Virgo... bit of a cleanliness freak. Drives my Wife and kids mad at times

Trouble is, that type of obsessive behaviour carries over into other areas as well... I should just learn to chill and enjoy life more..........
Take care. It's a crappy world at the minute.

I am currently running a fan system and it is loud as hell. I was thinking of converting to water cooling but I must say I am a "noob" at it. I OC and since the FX55 runs particularly hot I would like to run a DD system over koolance.
Recommendations are greatly appreciated (aka help. =P). Money is really not an object as I have a few hundred to spend.
