thanks rado.
i just toped it up because i new there was an air pocket in the top rad. after i finished the photos, i tilted it up on its back & got the air out the top RAD & into the rez. so the level in the raz is now almost an inch down.
thier was alot more air in there than i thought. it got in there when i was changing my gpu cooler last week, ever since then i herd the odd few bubbles going through the system but did'nt hav time to sort it out.
im pritty happy with it now on the cooling side, there is the odd thing id like but ive got other hardware i want first. dfi X38 , penryn & a new gpu.

And this is the front of my case.
P.S. I will NEVER buy a case with a front door on it again!

The one I took off was from my 24/7 computer. It's an iStarUSA full tower. I also have an Antec Lanboy that still has it intact but thats only because i'm not using it at the moment. Now I just got a CM Stacker which has no door and I must say is a thing of beauty. Other than it not have a removable mobo tray I have no complaints about it. The removable tray isn't that big of a deal but once you use one it kinda spoils you lol.
And element did you get that PM I sent you?

I like lockable front doors, keeps the kid from messing with stuff, but it's gotta be a solid one. The Thermaltake Tsunami Dream has a real nice front door, it's solid heavy duty aluminum, unbreakable in my opinion.

The chieftec dragons are the exact same case as the chenming case.
I've got a Chieftec w/o the front ports and window fan.

It has been a great case, tons of room, and great cooling. But now I want a case with 120mm fans to help make the case more quite. I was looking at the coolmaster stacker, just need to save up some coin for it.

The Cheiftec is the best case ever in my opinion.I would just want to see a 120mm fan on the front and the back instead of 4 80mm fans to make it more up to date.

Ah, that would be an Ultra Aluminus I think.
I do have a soft spot for the Chieftec's as well.
Shame the door opened to the wrong side in my opinion.

I was thinking of putting a 120mm fan on the top for exhaust, and making the 80mm side fan a 120mm intake. I will then only run 1 intake 80mm, and 1 80mm exhaust. That sould make it a little quiter.

Dammit Carl! Ya hadda go and say that hated word - "Aluminus"! I cut myself strippin' some fans out of mine today! I hate that glorified beer can, even though it looks nice!
I have to agree with you about Bill's "Harley" mod - it's awesome! Hell, I'd love to have a case painted in that orange color he used on it.
(Speakin' of Bill, I'm moving my SLI-DR out of the Aluminus and into the good ol' SC-135 I bought from him about 4 years ago. Just goes to show - you buy a quality case and it just keeps going and going and going.....)

I just got my Stacker the other day and it was worth every penny. Are you talking about the original style or the newer 830 model?
jelly
Sep 27 2007, 02:09 PM
I love how the 830 looks, but at a little over $230 its to much for me. I think I will go for the original. Witch one do you have?
Raiderfan001
Sep 27 2007, 02:12 PM
the original 810. I have it stripped down right now. Took out all of the front mesh grills and both side panels are off. I'm going to take the plastic piece on top off and use a hole saw to cut holes for mounting a triple rad on top.

Raiderfan001
Sep 27 2007, 02:19 PM
I haven't spent much time with it yet but the stock fans are pretty quiet. Even the 80mm one is quiet. But I plan on replacing them all with higher cfm fans anyways. Fan noise doesn't bother me that much.
jelly
Sep 27 2007, 02:34 PM
I always put higher cfm fans in, but they go on a fan controler so I can slow them down and make them quiet. When I need more air when I am gamming or running benchmark I just kick up the speed.

Nice job inside, man!
Can we get a shot of the back? I'm curious to see how far your rad sticks out from the case. What did you use for "standoffs"?
carholmes
Nov 23 2007, 03:29 PM
Thanks guys. For the rad I used the rad box stock stuff except I added some 1in stand offs and longer screws, it just gave me enough room to do some of those bends without any kinks. With the rad box, standoffs and fans the rad sticks out around 4in. I'll get some shots of the back once I find my camera.
Oh and for you ppl that WC a 5/8in OD tee really helps alot with bleeding. I think I fully bled and filled the system (including all those tiny bubbles) in around two to three hours. Martinm210 at XS gave me that tip.
EDIT: Pics. Sorry they are kinda crappy, but you get the idea.

I'd pay to have cable management that nice..
carholmes
Nov 23 2007, 05:31 PM
Thanks a bunch. But cable management really isn't as hard as you think. For my case I made a few holes behind the mother board and just routed everything from the hole by my power supply to the holes behind my mobo. Also lots of zipties and and ziptie mounts really help.
See:

Yea the the front is nice and neat and the back is a total mess.

Nov 23 2007, 05:56 PM
Not much room in the back in my case. I'll have to see what I can do though, I'd really love to get them out of the way, especially how my audio port cord goes right across the motherboard.
carholmes
Nov 23 2007, 06:20 PM
Well my case doesn't have much room either. I only have around 1/2 in space back there to work with but I managed to get all my cables back there. I had the same problem when I had the audio plug so I routed it just left of the pci/pcex slots to the bottom mobo tray hole. Right in this area:
alexfort93
Nov 23 2007, 06:23 PM
I don't even see it in there lol what about USB front ports or anything of that such? Doesn't look like you have any.
Also did your audio module get in the way of your fan? I had to use a razor blade and cut a piece of the fan so it would be able to fit.
carholmes
Nov 23 2007, 06:32 PM
Well I don't have any audio or usb plugs any more, since I put in my top window which is where all those hookups were. My fan has plenty of room, are you sure installed the audio module correctly? Cause from the audio modules little PCB to my fan there is at least 1/4-1/2 clearance. I don't know maybe you have a older or newer audio module revision. With USB plugs that I had, I just routed them strait down to the bottom mobo hole.
Edit: I got rid of the the front usb and audio because I didn't use them that often and I thought a window would look cooler. Also maybe the reason the audio thing is so close to your fans is the way your case is.
Edit#2:Another good idea to disguise those USB and Audio ports is to sleeve them black so they sort of blend in with the color of you mobo.
alexfort93
Nov 24 2007, 04:47 AM
Yeah they are already sleeved black, I just don't have that much to work with, if only it was longer.. I don't usually ever use the front audio so I might just get rid of them.
carholmes
Nov 24 2007, 05:05 AM
I would think that there might be some sort of internal USB extension cable somewhere. Hey if you can, can you post a pic of your rig? Curious how it looks.
Edit: Found a USB cable.
Link. I know $13 for a sleeved cable is a bit steep but if your willing it might work.

Finaly done! longest build i have done to date, spent 3 weeks ordering and assembling. And a week just setting bios and loading OS and Programs! It was worth it.
I put pumps, psu and cables on the right side of Cube! Added a window to that side also, with lights but not as clean cut as the left side! I need to get a photo of it too.
The Cube made for a clean look with no cables messing everything up(thru in the lights real quick, they need managed a bit), but its large, very large and feels like a step back to massive sized computers! But its Kick butt and gives you all kinds options for cooling and modds! My wife hates it, whats new?
Anyhow, the Magicool 1080 (9x120mm) RAD is sweet, keeps everything very cool. All three pumps only run during high stress, I switch off the 950gph during idle times(and it can be loud)! Room temp is 78*f! So @ 950+317+317=1584gph, CPU core#0 29c core#1 31c Idle and #0 37c and #1 39c load(3750mhz)! NB runs at 46c load and my GPUs, last on the loop, 28c&31C Idle and 33c&36c load(85%)
Smart Gurdian(never use it) reads 17c CPU but Bios reads 28c! I bought a Thermal probe, be here tomarrow.
Hope you like it, overkill on the lights I know, but I like it!

Nice work! Very neat and clean. Love that case it appears to be well thought out like most CM products. Some nice W-Cooling potential too. Do you have the
side panel for it. I also like the way you painted the inside of it makes for a much better look.
