I have vista 64bit on an Abit IN9 32X Max 680i SLi mobo using onboard sound. I had it set up before where my speakers and Headset were both plugged into the on board sound jacks and, worked good, but I can't figure out why it doesn't work now. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers but nothing seems to work. however the speakers work and my headset, plugged into the speaker jack (on speaker) works, but the mic has nothing to plug into. 1 for headset/phone and an AUX, on speaker/s. (2x 3.5 plugs)I have on headset. The 3.5 jacks on the front of my PC have never worked and it is plugged onto the mobo where it is supose to be. Anyone have any Ideas? And I have purchased a good headset and blink.gif still same problem

What i ussually do is run the msn wizard , you might need to enable the mic to in windows, but like i said if the msn wizard has it on : "good to go" it shouldnt be a problem.
Mind you i run xp 32 bit so there might be some difference, just hope this helps

did you install SP1?
if you have it seems to be a known issue with some SoundMax applications among others.
at this point there is no work around.
my SoundMax software does not work now that i have installed SP1.
i have exactly the same issue you describe.
another great Crapsta upgrade...
it sure was nice with XP.
you plugged things in, and they worked...

maybe thats why people are having issues with soundcards, maybe its not the sound cards but the SP1 update for Vista because it seems that after I did that (update ) is about when it happened. makes alot of since, wonder if I can reinstall Vista and not get the SP1 update. I think I'll try that but they'll problably have a fix for it tomorrow, my luck smile.gif thanks for your input.

Im not so sure if it was the SP1 update to Vista unless what you said about the Max mobos' was true My IN9 32X MAX 680i SLi has been finnicky but also a suprisingly Good Overclocking Mobo Maybe all the Overclocking burned it up I dont know Im going to try everything but buying a sound card I just dont want to waste $100, because Ive allready looked and thats about how much the card cost that I would buy. I have a GIGABYTE P35 DS3 somthing another (which has been a great board and build, great for wife and kids and will have for awhile) anyway I pluged in a headset and wala they worked Realtek Audio Manager came up this didn't happen on the other PC that Im having problems with. Maybe because the other PC does'nt have Realtek Audio Manager. Well Im currently reformaating and still cant figure out how to RAID That drives me crazy more tha any thing If you Have an ABIT IN9 32X-MAX and dont mind helping me to get RAID enishiat ( thats got to be splelt wrong :-() )I would more than greatly appreciat that E-MAIL is gause44@live.com [/email][/u] //Reformating and reinstalling everything and go from thier on the HEADSET ISSUE\\ takes a while oh well good thing Ive got two PC's
